We are a family owned and operated transmission shop with long term employees of 35 years experience We opened our doors in 1964 at 3088 S Highland Drive as Royal Transmission Over the next 30 years we built our business to 9 stores When we started we were a rebuild shop but in 1981 we remodeled and expanded our original shop to include 3 service bays which allowed us to work directly on customers vehicles In 1994 we sold 8 of our stores to the Cottman Transmission Franchise We remained at our original location and renamed it to Transmission Service Center where we have been providing great customer service for 49 years

Transmission Service Center is a family owned and operated automotive transmission shop proudly serving Charlotte, North Carolina with long-standing expertise. Opened in 1964 at 3088 S Highland Drive as Royal Transmission, the business grew over the next three decades to operate nine stores. What began as a rebuild-focused shop expanded in 1981 when the original location was remodeled and expanded to include three service bays, enabling direct work on customers’ vehicles. In 1994, eight stores were sold to the Cottman Transmission Franchise, and Transmission Service Center continued operating at the original location under its current name, providing great customer service for 49 years. Today, the shop is supported by long-term employees with 35 years of experience, combining deep transmission know-how with a long history of local service in Charlotte.
